Haw-lin Services is the creative extension of Haw-lin, an online mood board through which, over the last 5 years, Nathan Cowen and Jacob Klein, have shared and curated imagery of inspiration and interest. Haw-lin Services offers photography, art direction, graphic design, and creative research specializing in the fields of fashion, architecture, art, product and interior design.

The name Haw-lin serves as an analogy for the studio's creative philosophy of exchange and collaboration and stems from the duo's beginnings. 'Haw-' coming from Hawaii, where Nathan grew up and '-lin' from Berlin, the city where the creative partnership first formed.

Nathan Cowen was born in 1983 in Santa Cruz, California and grew up in Kailua, Hawaii. In 2007, he graduated from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, California with a degree in Graphic Design.

Jacob Klein was born 1980 in Warendorf, Germany and grew up in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Germany. In 2007, he graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, Germany with a degree in Graphic and Communication Design.

After graduating, both Nathan and Jacob found themselves working for Hort, a highly successful and internationally respected Berlin based graphic design studio. It was during this time at Hort that the pair discovered their shared creative interests, established themselves as creative professionals and worked for various big name clients such as Nike, Microsoft, Warner Music, Sony Music, IBM, Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau, Wallpaper* just to name a few. The decision to establish Haw-lin Services was strongly influenced by the online success of Haw-lin, which to date has approximately 6,000 hits per day and 200,000 hits per month. This achievement has lead to further opportunities of work with such clients as Adidas, PB 0110 (Philipp Bree's new brand), Opening Ceremony, Velour and new creative prospects always arising.
